Signature III desk-top CD color printer is ideal for any business or organization that performs in-house duplication of CD-Rs for data, software distribution, audio, music and archival purposes. Its 1200×1200 dpi print resolution is the best available today, printing 1.44 million pixels per square inch. Delivering extremely high print quality on graphics and text, Signature III also prints photographic images in stunning quality and realism with no visible dot patterns.

Of equal importance to CD-R duplication applications is print speed. Signature III has three print modes which allow the user to specify the level of speed and quality desired, the fastest of which is just 38 seconds per disc. Monochrome printing is also easily achieved at an average of just 6 seconds per disc at 15% coverage.

The latest model also maintains an identical footprint, case design and interface to previous CD printers from Primera Technology. This enables plug-and-play integration to dozens of automatic loaders and duplication systems available from third-parties.

Signature III comes complete with printer drivers for Windows 95/98/NT and Macintosh, including the iMac and G3 models when using an optional USB to parallel cable. Also included is "CD-ID for Windows", a dedicated design program created specifically for the unique shape of CDs. For those who prefer to use their own Windows or Macintosh design software, the Signature III's printer drivers will automatically format the image to the proper size of the disc and "knock-out" the center hole when printed.



Completely new ink formulations are utilized by Signature III to obtain higher quality output and even more robust durability. The color gamut of the cyan, magenta and yellow inks has been increased by over 30% compared to its predecessor. Colors are more vibrant, bright and realistic, especially on photographs. In addition, ink droplet size has been reduced by nearly 400%. The result is not only more sharpness and detail, but faster drying times which significantly increases resistance to smearing. Image durability is further increased by utilizing 100% dye-based inks instead of pigmented inks which tend to "float" on the surface of printable-surface CD-R media.

Signature III prints onto a wide variety of printable-surface media, including CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R or any other 120 mm optical disc with a printable-surface. For the best print quality and durability, the use of media from one of Primera's Authorized Media Partners is recommended. Current media partners include Maxell, Microboards PrintWrite, Mitsui, Ricoh and Verbatim. Also, Primera's own Signature-branded CD-R media feature a protective coating called Tuff-Coat™. This unique surface allows ink to dry immediately, eliminating smearing due to handling.
